Helping Your Child
Maintain Good Oral Health
Oral Hygiene is the practice of cleaning the mouth and teeth. This is an essential part of your child’s overall heath and well being, and is so important in preventing dental problems like cavities, periodontal (gum) disease, and bad breath.
In order to make sure your child’s teeth, gums, and mouth are being kept in the best shape possible, you need to make sure you’re bringing them in for a regular tooth cleaning at least every 6 months. You should also make sure they are flossing and brushing at least twice a day, including thoroughly cleaning the tongue and the inside of the cheeks.
Be aware of the kinds of foods that can be harmful to teeth. This includes anything too sugary or acidic, which can eat away at the teeth enamel and caffeine and coffee, which can cause the teeth to stain.
