in Parker, CO
Dental pediatrics is an area of dentistry that deals with the oral health and hygiene of children, from infancy to adolescence. Our Parker, CO pediatric dentist has years of experience in caring for the unique needs of children’s teeth and gums. He and the rest of the staff here at Little Rockies Kids Dental have received the necessary training and qualifications to provide the best possible care to your children. Our commitment is to provide excellent dental care, delivered by highly trained professionals in an atmosphere that is both comforting and fun for the patient.
Primary teeth (most commonly known as baby teeth) are the set of teeth that children get to prepare their mouths for adult teeth. Baby teeth help provide children with proper speech development, chewing, and saves space in the jaw for adult teeth. We all know that children develop at different rates, but you will typically begin to notice your child’s first tooth erupt during the first 6 months to a year of life. They will typically begin to lose these teeth by age 6 or 7, and they will start to be replaced by adult teeth.
The American Dental Association has recommended that children see the dentist by their first birthday, or by the eruption of their first tooth. It’s very important to take proper care of baby teeth, as this will help to set a healthy foundation for oral hygiene for the rest of your child’s life. If you neglect this important part of your child’s overall health, he or she can possibly develop dental health issues such as gum disease or tooth decay. These conditions can cause problems for the rest of your child’s life.
Below is a short list of just a few of the treatments and services we provide to the children of Parker, CO and the surrounding areas.
Here at Little Rockies Kids Dental, we know how difficult it is for a child to sit still and be patient during a dental appointment. It can be overwhelming and scary for kids! Luckily, we have sedation options and our staff has been well trained at putting children at ease. We want your child’s appointment to be as smooth and comfortable as possible.
