Office visits

A+ A- A Main Content

Your child should first visit the dentist by the eruption of their first tooth or by their first birthday – whichever comes first! This helps ensure that any problems will be detected early and also helps foster a positive relationship with the dentist.

Your child’s first dental visit will include the following:

  • Your dentist will check to make sure your child’s teeth, jawbone, and soft tissues are all forming correctly
  • Your child’s teeth will be checked for cavities and/or decay
  • Your child’s teeth will be cleaned and fluoride will be applied
  • X-Rays may be taken, but only if your dentist feels they are necessary

We want to make sure that your child’s visit to the dentist is an all-around positive one! We encourage you and your child to ask questions and learn everything you can, in order to feel as comfortable as possible with the procedures being performed.
