The Future of the Tooth Brush

A+ A- A Main Content

The Future of the Tooth BrushAs dentists we are always looking to the future when it concerns our field of practice and the technology that is introduced.  In recent years the pace at which technology has been introduced to dentistry has been astonishing.  When I was younger it was a whole different ball game.  Even when I was in school it was much different.

I came across an interesting disruptor that could affect or change the modern toothbrush as we know it.  It is called Boie and they think it is the future of brushing teeth.  Boie boasts several distinct changes from its on shelf competitors.

  • Bristles are made from a medical grade elastomer that is less abrasive

  • Bristles that are antibacterial

  • Interchangeable heads that last 2x longer than nylon bristles

  • Ergonomic S shaped handle that is ultra thin

A tool we use 2 times a day, at least, should definitely be clean from bacteria and shouldnt leave our teeth with more damage than before we used it.  The boie claims it is made out of medical grade elastomer and is antibacterial.  Taking a nod from the dollar shave clubs of the world, you buy a handle and the brush heads are interchangeable.
